From OMEGA’s beginnings, our timepieces have recorded some of the most significant moments in the world (and beyond). They have been worn by presidents and kings, astronauts and spies, movie stars and you. Behind each one is a legacy of horological quality and innovation.
1980 Omega lunched their quartz line. Imagined in the early 80s, the Sensor was undeniably a computer prowess of its time. First microprocessor multimemory LCD watch with continuous display of hours, minutes and seconds, and offering nine simultaneously operational programmes: chronograph, countdown, rendezvous alarm, wake-up alarm, hourly signal, memorizing a first date, memorizing a second date, hours and minutes of another time zone, day and date. Selection and setting simplified through the new sensor technology, developed in collaboration with the Electronic Watch Centre of Neuchatel. Calibre 1640. Produced in only about 15,000 copies, even less of the gold plated version the sensorquartz is a piece of choice for all watch lovers who are out of the ordinary.
Its retro/geek side gives it a special charm once on the wrist. Connoisseurs will appreciate it.
